Marilyn Patterson

Marilyn E Patterson, 90, passed away on January 17, 2024, at Shore Rehab in Parksley, Va. Born on November 25, 1933, in Catskills, NY. She was the daughter of the late Wesley Rose and Lilian Rose. She is also predeceased by her husband, Franklin C Patterson, her brother, Ronnie Rose, and her three sisters, Ilda, Sally, and Marion.

Marilyn was a great MOM as well as a great FRIEND. She always wanted to help people and animals. She was a happy person. She would light up the room if you were there. She really loved her family. The people that met her loved her as well. She was loved by everyone; even a trucker in WV spoke of how she knew her and said how nice she was.

Left to Cherish her are her son, Robert Patterson, and his wife, Maria Teresa Patterson; sister, Sandy Joiner; grandchildren, Zachary Underwood, Kelsey Underwood, Michael Bing, Marissa Bing, Cody Lazear, and Jewel Dane Manarang; a great-grandchild, Evie Underwood, and her nieces and nephews, George and Cathy Holleger, Cheryl Holleger Schlitt, Jeff Holleger, Sherry Joiner, Barbie Joiner, and Terry Joiner.

The funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc., Chincoteague Island, VA. Visitation will be one hour prior. The interment will take place at John Taylor Cemetery, Temperanceville, VA.
