Maureen Derrickson

Maureen Mary Conklin Derrickson was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on March 24, 2024, at the age of 88.

She was born to Henry Winfred and Mary Elizabeth Conklin on March 17, 1936. After graduating from high school, she married the love of her life, William (Bill) Bevis Derrickson, and they were happily married for 69 years. Together, they have two sons, Brian Derrickson (Rose) and Tom Derrickson (Jacque). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Barbara, Brian (Mary), Kyle (Brooke), Connor (Michelle), Collin; her great-grandchildren, Anna, Brody, Gunner, Sewell, Charly, Micah, her brothers, Bob Conklin (Nancy), Harry Conklin (Monika), Richard Conklin (Carolyn), Gary Conklin, her sister-in-law Nancy Hall and lots of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, stepmother Ellen, and one brother, Thomas Conklin.

Maureen loved spending time with her family most of all, they were her greatest joy in life.

Maureen was employed by multiple financial institutions, including Pocomoke, Chincoteague, and the Washington area, where she held the position of bank manager.

Maureen was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Christ United Methodist Church in Chincoteague, Virginia, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at John Taylor Cemetery in Temperanceville, Virginia. A reception will follow at Christ United Methodist Church. Flowers accepted,
