Michael Steven Sosebee

Michael Steven Sosebee, 71, passed away on March 28, 2024. He was born on August 14, 1952, to the late Jackson and Dorothy Sosebee.

Mike is a graduate of Texas A&M University, has served in the Navy, and retired from the Eastern Correctional Institute, where he served as a Correctional Officer and managed the Recreations Department. Mike was also a lifetime member of the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department. He was very proud to be a certified firefighter where he would assist on fire calls and work at the carnival every year. He would help anywhere he was needed at the carnival, but he loved making and perfecting the caramel popcorn. He also loved going to Assateague to enjoy a day at the beach swimming or saltwater fishing with his family. 

Mike is survived by his wife, Deborah Sosebee; his daughters, Brooke Parsons and son-in-law David Parsons, Jessica Sosebee, and Katherine Sosebee; his brother Jackson Sosebee Jr and sister-in-law Marcie Sosebee; his sister Patricia Henderson and brother-in-law Jimmy Henderson, his granddaughters Bronagh Parsons and Teagan Parsons, his nephews, Kyle Sosebee, Jim Henderson, and Jason Henderson, and several great nieces and nephews.

A private ceremony with family will take place at a later date.
