Janice Lee "Jenny" Bowden

Janice Lee "Jenny" Bowden, 85, of Chincoteague Island, VApassed away on February 19, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Chincoteague Island, VA on June 27, 1932 to the late Edward and Myrtle (Budd) Shreaves.

She was a member of Union Baptist Church and Accomack Chapter #62 Order of Eastern Star.

Jenny is survived by her three sons, Howard Lee Bowden and his wife Judy of Temperanceville, VA, Thomas Wayne Bowden and his wife Yvonne of Chincoteague Island, VA, Douglas William Bowden, Sr. and his wife Wanda of Bloxom, VA; Daughter, Mary Alice Birch and her husband Bill of Atlantic, VA; eighteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; special great niece, Denise P. Bowden of Chincoteague Island, VA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins A special thank you to Pat Richardson and everyone who has helped take care of mom during her sickness.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Shreaves, mother, Myrtle Shreaves, husband, Howard Franklin Bowden, son, Randy Dean Bowden, daughter, Deana Faye Bowden, great grandchild, Riley Bowden, and twelve siblings..

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018, 2:00 pm at the Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague Island, VA, with Rev. Kevin Eley, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Mechanics Cemetery on Church Street on Chincoteague Island, VA.
