John Sharkey Obituary
John Robert D. Sharkey, 64, of Chincoteague Island, VA passed away on March 19, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Indianapolis, IND. on February 15, 1956 to the late Harold and Lilly Sharkey.
Sharkey had a love for life and laughter and was one of a kind. He loved being on the water especially with his son by his side. He will be missed by everyone who knew him because he did not know a stranger.
Sharkey is survived by two sons, Johnnie Robert Sharkey and his wife Jess of Chincoteague Island, VA, Jason Sharkey and his wife Melissa of Hagerstown, MD; Daughter, Rhonda Sharkey of Rehobeth, DE; thirteen grandchildren, Tobie, Jamie, Kayla, Nichole, Ryan, Shelby, Autumn, Joshua, Madison, Ethan, Isaiah, Lucas, Jaelyn; one great granddaughter, Peyton; Sister, Sharon Staggs of Romney, WV; one niece, Lisa; three nephews, Robert, Jerry, Chris; several cousins and great nephews and great nieces.
Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Chincoteague Police Department Ride for Kids 6150 Community Drive Chincoteague Island, VA 23336. Services entrusted to Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. on Chincoteague Island, VA. Condolences may be made online at www.salyerfh.com.
