CAROLINA YANIAK Obituary

Carolina Louise Yaniak of Saxis, VA passed away peacefully on January 11, 2022, with her granddaughter and her family alongside of her where she has resided since November 21, 2021, prior to moving to VA she resided in Harrington, Delaware for the past 32 + years. Carolina was born in the Bronx, NY to the late Howard and Harriett Martin. She lived an eventful life that most people would have thrown the towel in. She rolled with the punches and kept the fight until her earthly fight was done…
Carolina was a loving, praying and strong mother who loved her family and friends with all her heart… She took joy in seeing her family together and happy. She enjoyed having a good time whether that be … cooking family dinners in her younger days, dancing and listening to music and drinking coffee, wine or her Budweiser. She enjoyed crafts and sewing in addition to reading. She had a sense of humor and was quite comical at times. She enjoyed the casino and Nascar racing and in her later years she enjoyed watching Paw Patrol, Big People Little World and various other shows to pass her time.

Our hope and prayers are that Carolina was reunited in Heaven by her siblings Walter Martin and Howard Martin. In addition, to a niece Cheryl Ann Metier and nephew Dean Martin. The heart of a grandmother and mother was made in full on this day when she was also reunited with her grandson Joseph John Copenhaver, Jr. and her four children: Baby Angel, Gail Ann Hinckley, Charles “Denny” Copenhaver Jr, and Joseph John Copenhaver.

Carolina leaves many memories and our lives our made richer for that. Carolina is survived by: Siblings Warren Martin (Millie) and Gail Lickfold (Dennis)
Daughter, Kathy Owen (Kenny), Daughter, Teresa Branciforte (Pete), Son, Michael Valenti (Laureen) Daughter, Amanda Brown, in addition to her children, she is survived by 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great- great- grandchildren, as well as many extended family members and friends.
Her life touched many and she was a mom figure to many throughout her life.

At Carolina’s request she would like for her family to celebrate and love one another

The family will gather at a later date in the Spring and honor her wishes…
