Charles “Wesley” Bradford Jr, 87, of New Church, VA went into the arms of the Lord on February 17, 2023, from a short battle of pancreatic cancer, surrounded by his loving wife, daughter, son and daughter-in-law. He was born and raised on Chincoteague Island, November 11, 1935, son to the late Charles W. Bradford Sr and Oneida Earl Bowden Bradford of Chincoteague, VA.
Wesley was a member of Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague VA many organizations such as Accomack Masonic Lodge 243, Royal Arch Chapter 75, Khedive Shrine, Eastern Shore of Virginia Shrine Club, Portsmouth Scottish Right, Eastern Shore Scottish Right, American Legion Post 159, Pocomoke City Elk Lodge 1624. Wesley also served in the United States Airforce.
Wesley is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Bradford and children, Chuck (Michelle) Bradford, and Cindy Bradford, all of New Church, VA. Wesley has 6 grandchildren: Heather (Keith) Thompson of Marion Station, MD, Jimmy (Julie) Landon of Westover, MD, Jessica (Jeremy) Bonniwell of Melfa, VA, Janna Landon of Pocomoke City, MD, Chad Bradford of Wilmington, DE, Mallory Bradford of Crisfield, MD. Wesley has 9 great grandchildren, sister Annette Bradford Rudd of Salisbury, MD, Aunt Ada Bowden Carr and Uncle George Bowden, nieces nephews, and cousins, along with many lifelong friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by brother Bill Bradford, sisters Betty Bradford Snell, and Peggy Bradford Watson.
Services will be held at Salyer Funeral Home, Chincoteague VA, February 21, 2023 @ 2pm and burial will follow at Downing Cemetery, Oak Hall VA with the Revering Donnie Bailey
