Charles Raymond Wimbrow Sr., 82, of Chincoteague Island, VA passed away on August 21, 2021 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Stockton, MD on April 28, 1939 to the late Douglas and Mary (Ennis) Wimbrow.
He was a member of Elks Lodge of Accomack and US Trotting Association. He was a former member of Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company and a saltwater cowboy.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Daisey Wimbrow of Chincoteague Island, VA; daughter, Laurie Ann Thornton and her husband Eddie of Chincoteague Island, VA; son, Charles Raymond Wimbrow, Jr. and his wife Amanda of Atlantic, VA; four granddaughters, Tiffany Nicole Patton and her husband Robert of Chincoteague Island, VA, Jennie Bobitka and her husband Brian of Crofton, MD, Candi Marie Conner and her husband Jon of Chincoteague Island, VA, Ashley Elizabeth Wimbrow and her fiance' Patrick of Snow Hill, MD; three brothers, Edward Frank Wimbrow and his wife Linda of Wattsville, VA, Norman Wimbrow and his wife Sarah Lou of KY, Elwood Wimbrow and his wife Nancy of Snow Hill, MD; sister, Patsy Lambertson and her husband Jerry of Snow Hill, MD; seven great grandchildren; two brother-in-laws, Larry Merritt Sr. and his wife Sharon of Chincoteague Island, VA, Warren Hinnman of Gilford, VA; Uncle, Charles "Skinny" Wimbrow of Accomac, VA; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother, Douglas Wimbrow, Jr., Brother, Buzz Wimbrow, Sister, Margaret Hinnman, Sister, Eloise Ennis, Sister, Jackie Wilson, and Brother, Calvin Wimbrow.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2021, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc., Chincoteague Island, VA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, 2:00 pm at the Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague Island, VA, with Pastor Maurice Enright, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Downing Cemetery in Oak Hall, VA.
