Charles Percy “Chuck” Patton Jr born on March 21, 1952 in Greenville MS went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 14, 2022.
Charles “Chuck” Patton was the son of the late Charles Percy Patton Sr & Clara J. Weeks. He spent most of his childhood in Mississippi and moved to Chincoteague as a teenager. After high school Chuck joined the Navy and was stationed on the USS Independence. He served with the Navy for 5 years and was medically discharged in 1975. In 1972 he started dating his first wife Carol and married shortly after. They went on to raise two daughters and his nephew, working as an HVAC technician at NASA. Later on in the years Chuck married his current wife Janet and moved to Salisbury where he enjoyed his retired life to the fullest.
Throughout his life Chuck enjoyed fishing, gardening and horseback riding. Chuck also enjoyed umpiring and working with the Little League. He had a major role in bringing the association to the Eastern Shore and on any given weeknight or weekend during baseball/softball season he could be found on the field behind home plate especially if his daughters were playing because for some reason it gave him joy to say STEE…RIKE whenever they were at bat. But his greatest passion in life was spending time with his family.
Charles Patton leaves behind his wife of 14 years Janet Patton, his ex-wife and friend Carol Lappin, his daughters Shawn Malone (Ronnie) of Chincoteague, Sherri Patton of Wallops Island and his nephew Jason Bamburg. He is survived by his 4 grandchildren Ronny Nicole Malone (Sam), Phillip Greene Jr (Kaelin), Kelsey Malone, and Autumn Patton. Chuck is also survived by his sisters Brenda, Jackie and Michelle, a brother Gary and several nieces and nephews.
Chuck was predeceased in death by his mother and father and two brothers Jimmy and Rusty.
