Clarence Charles "Charlie Boy" Taylor, 80, of Chincoteague Island, VA passed away Friday, June 24th, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital, Nassawadox, VA.
Charlie Boy was born in Chincoteague Island, VA on June 6, 1931, a son of the late Rowena (Jester) and Joseph Taylor.
He worked as a waterman for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member the Accomack Masonic Lodge #243 and Scottish Rite of Freemasonary, S.J., U.S.A. He was a lifetime member of the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pat Taylor of Chincoteague Island, VA; a daughter Charlene Swartz and her husband Paul of New Church, VA; two grandchildren, Samantha and Joseph Swartz; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Vernon and Ralph Taylor.
Friends are invited to call Sunday, June 26th, 7-9 PM. with a Masonic Service at 7:30 PM at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. in Chincoteague Island, VA.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 27th, 2011 at 2 PM at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc., Chincoteague Island, VA, with Rev. Kevin Eley officiating.
Interment will be held in Downing Cemetery Oak Hall, VA.
