Douglas Marshall passed away peacefully to his lord & savior in Heaven on October 21, 2025. Douglas was born in Utah on May 22, 1942, to his parents, William Marshall and Priscilla Johnson (Marshall-Bingham). He served twice for the United States Navy with honorable discharge both times. He retired after 20 years of working Security with NASA at Wallops Island, VA. He was a lifetime member of the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department and loved volunteering. He cherished family and had a passion for working in his shop.
He is survived by:
Bonnie Rye - sister (Oklahoma), Lynn Jay Marshall - brother (Idaho), JoAn Parthesius - sister (New York), Geneva Rathbone - daughter (Delaware), Wendy Ainsworth - daughter (Virginia), Jay Pronier - son (Virginia), Donna Peterson - daughter (Utah), Mike Rathbone, Jr. - grandson (Delaware), Nate Rathbone - grandson (Delaware), John Michael Coyle - grandson (Florida), Nikki Conley - granddaughter (Utah), Andrew Peterson - grandson (Utah), six great grand children (Barrett, Tyzek, Mikayla, Tim, Brooke, and Parker), and thirty-two nephews/nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Marshall and Priscilla Johnson (Marshall-Bingham), Alice Ilene Marshall - wife, Gladys Mae Felix - sister, Beatrice Coulson - sister, Larry Marshall - brother, Billy Marshall - brother, George Bingham - brother, Carolyn Czech - sister, Emma Koziol - sister, Mike Rathbone, Sr. - son-in-law, Ryan Coyle - grandson, and his fur baby/Ms. Sadie.
There will be a celebration of life/Memorial Service at 4 pm on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department, Chincoteague Island, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department.
