Ethel Walker

Ethel Walker, 96, of Chincoteague Island, passed away on June 20, 2023, at the Shore Health and Rehab Center in Parksley, VA.  She was born in Virginia on August 19, 1926, to the late Edward and Peachie (Langford) Webber. Ethel grew up in a small town outside Lynchburg, Virginia. She married Harry Walker in 1967 and moved to Johnstown, PA. After Harry retired in 1974, they moved to Chincoteague Island, Virginia.  She was an active member of The Union Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family.  As the island's seamstress, she knew most people on the island by name.

Ethel is predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband, Harry, as well as her two stepsons, John (Bunny) and Bob (Judy), and her granddaughter Debby. She is survived by seven grandchildren: John, Mike, Linda, Sandy, Michael, Kathy, and Bob, as well as many great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family, and the many friends that she made over the years while living on the island.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Union Baptist Church on Chincoteague Island, VA with Rev. Eley, officiating. Interment will take place in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Johnstown, PA.
