Etta V."Granny" MacDowell,84, of Chincoteague Island, VA went to be with the Lord, Friday, June 24th, at her residence.
Etta was born in Chincoteague, Virginia on February 3, 1927, a daughter of the late Mollie (Daisey) and William Daisey.
She was a member of Union Baptist Church and Daughters of Ruth Sunday School Class in Chincoteague Island, VA .
She was the former owner and operator of Etta's Family Restaurant in Chincoteague Island, VA for over 30 years .
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Forrest C. MacDowell of Chincoteague Island, Va; three children, Ray Manning and his wife Cathy of Chincoteague Island, VA, Vicky Thornton and her husband Joe of Chincoteague Island, VA, Forrest L. MacDowell and his wife Sandy of Chincoteague Island, VA; four grandchildren Travis Thornton and his wife Annette of Chincoteague Island, Va, Adrian Manning and his wife Amy of Zuni, VA, Andrea Stanley and her husband Kevin of Chincoteague Island, VA, Jason Manning of Morgantown, WVA; four great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends are invited to call Monday 7-9 PM. at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc in Chincoteague Island, VA.
Funeral Service will be held at Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague Island, VA, at 2 PM on Tuesday, June 28th, with Rev. Kevin Eley and Rev. Travis DeLoach officiating.
Interment will be held at Daisey Cemetery, Ridge Road, Chincoteague Island, VA.
