Frances Knight Gillespie

Frances Knight (Fran)  Gillespie, 77, of Chincoteague Island, VA,  passed away on  March 8, 2023 at her residence.
  
She was born in Norfolk, VA on February 26, 1946 to the late Richard Knight and Marie (Lee) Taylor.   
She was a member of Union Baptist Church. Fran worked as a dental assistant at Island Dental on Chincoteague Island. 
She was a loving wife, mom, and granny. 
  
Fran is survived by her loving spouse William T. Gillespie of Chincoteague Island, VA, 3 Children, Denise Hopkins, spouse Sherrill Hopkins of Pocomoke, Cheryl Chesser of Salisbury, and Chad Chesser and his wife Louise of Chincoteague, 7 Grand-children; Nicholas Hopkins of Ocean City, Andrew Hopkins of Fruitland, Laura Hopkins of Pocomoke, Kristin and Kelsey Chesser of Salisbury, Cole Chesser of Atlantic, and Nina Butler of Jacksonville, Great Grandson Kamarie Butler, and 2 sisters; Kathryn Knight Taylor of Bloxom, and Carolyn Knight Smith of Jacksonville; several nieces and nephews. 
  
She was preceded in death by Father, Richard Knight, and her  Mother, Marie Lee Taylor.
  
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023, 2:00 pm at the Union Baptist Church, on Chincoteague Island, VA with Rev. Kevin Eley, officiating.
  
Burial will take place in the Parksley Cemetery.
