George Jones Merritt Jr.

Mr. George Jones Merritt Jr., 73, of Salisbury, MD formerly of Chincoteague, VA passed away Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, MD.
George was born in Lewes, DE on May 18, 1936, the son of the late George and Isabel (Hancock) Merritt.
He worked as a cleaner for G&D Cleaning,Salisbury, MD. He was well known around town for his acts of kindness.
He was the husband of Irene (Traini) Merritt of Salisbury, MD. He is also survived by two daughters Sonya Causey of Salisbury, MD, Kathy Ingram of Delmar, MD, five grandchildren; Nicole, AnnMarie, and Cheyenne all of Salisbury, MD, Michael and Heather of Delmar, MD, and four great grandchildren; Christopher, Ryan, Jason, and Nathan of Salisbury, MD and several nieces and nephews.
At the family's request there will not be any visitation.
Funeral Service at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc., Chincoteague, VA, at 11 AM on Saturday, May 15th, with Rev. John Thornes officiating.
Interment at Daisey Cemetery Chincoteague, VA.
