George Robert "Bobby" Turlington

George Robert "Bobby" Turlington, 66, of 6223 Poplar St Chincoteague Island, Va passed away Wednesday, January 20th 2010 while in the company of his family.

Bobby was born on Chincoteague Island on November 22nd 1943 to Ruth (Shipe) Turlington and the late Ralph Turlington.

He was a member of Union Baptist Church and the Ready Sunday School Class of Union Baptist Church.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was the co-owner of Holiday Cottages after retiring from the U.S. Park service with 32 years.

He was married to Jerry Lou Turlington for 32 years.

Other than his wife and mother, Bobby is survived by his sons, Robbie Turlington and wife Paula; Ricky Riley and wife Linda; Martin Riley and wife Tammy; a daughter Carla Jones and husband Cecil; a sister Betty Rae Miller and husband Luther and a brother Charles Ralph Turlington and wife Jane, also nine grandchildern, Cody and Kayla Turlington , Tera Flerlage with her husband Kenny, Randi Caddell, Ross Williams, Jared Jones, Lauren Morris, Chase and Ethan Riley along with several neices, nephews and cousins.

Friends are invited to call Salyer Funeral Home Saturday, January 23rd from 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 24th at Union Baptist Church at 2:00pm. Interment will be at Daisey Cemetery, Chincoteague Island.
