Gilbert Louis McDonald

Gilbert L. McDonald of Greenbackville, Virginia died January 12, 2012 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 11, 1938 in Vermont. He served in the 82nd Airborne of the US Army and was a retired policeman from the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Theresa McDonald. He is survived by his wife, Patty, sons Gil Michael and Christopher, grandchildren Colin, Brandon, and Faith McDonald, sisters Carol Sharpe and Jean Topolski. There will be a celebration of his life gathering for friends and family on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Chincoteague, Virginia. Contributions can be made in his memory to St. Andrew's church. Local arrangements made by Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. Chincoteague Island.
