Glena Donovan

Glena Jean Donovan (née Fox), aged 71, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024, in Wallops Island, Virginia. Born on November 25, 1952, in Detroit, MI, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.

Glena had a distinguished 44-year career with NASA Wallops Flight Facility, contributing significantly to their missions and projects. Her passion for her work was paralleled by her love for horses and cherished moments spent with her grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

She is survived by her son, Jeremy Donovan (wife Ashley), and grandchildren, Chloe Donovan, Natalee Thornes, Rylan Donovan, and Lacey Donovan. She also leaves behind her brother, Gary Fox Sr. (wife Shannon), niece Karen Cherrix (husband Ryan), nephew Gary Fox Jr., niece Stephanie Marks (husband Tyler), and several great-nieces and nephews. Glena was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Donovan, and her parents, Catherine and Glenn Fox.

A family viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 25, at 12 PM, followed by a graveside service at Taylor Cemetery at 2 PM. Both services will be assisted by Salyers Funeral Home, located in Chincoteague, VA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Glena's memory can be made to the Eastern Shore Regional Animal Control Facility, 28167 Beacon Road, Melfa, VA 23410, an organization she cared deeply about. Glena's commitment to her family, her career, and her community leaves a lasting legacy that will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
