Harold Brasure

Mr. Harold L. Brasure, 86, of Chincoteague Island, VA passed away Saturday, September 11th, 2010 at his residence.
Harold was born in Chincoteague, Virginia on September 25, 1923, the son of the late Joshua E. and Lula M. (Tarr) Brasure.
He was a member of Union Baptist Church Chincoteague Island, VA., Lifetime Member of Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company, Accomack Masonic Lodge #243, Accomack Chapter #62 Order of Eastern Star. He was awarded the John Shields Citizen of the year for 2007.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WW II. He retired from the Wallops Flight Facility Fire Department.
He was the husband of Elizabeth Brasure of Chincoteague, VA.
He is also survived by a son Baxter Brasure and his wife Luann of Chincoteague, VA; a grandson Chris Brasure and his wife Christy of Fruitland, MD; two great grandchildren, Kylee and Caden Brasure of Fruitland, MD and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 7-9 PM. at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. and the family will be receiving friends at home.
Funeral Service will be held at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc., Chincoteague, VA, at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 15th, with Rev. Kevin Eley and Rev. William L. Gregory officiating.
Interment will be held at John W. Taylor Memorial Cemetery Temperanceville, VA.
