James Francis Adams, affectionately known as Big Jim, passed away peacefully on August 8th 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on Oct 28th 1960 to the late James Francis Adams, Sr and Louise Tull, Big Jim made his way in the world by owning and operating Adams General Contractor. Big Jim was always “at home” in his dump trucks, excavator or tractor. He passed on his work ethic to his children who looked up to him affectionately for guidance and learning.
Big Jim was a family man and he leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Nancy Moore Adams; his two sons, Roger Adams and his wife Britney; Thomas Adams and his wife Michelle; His mother, Louise Tull and her husband Eddie; his sister, Janet Mason and her husband Matt;brother, Michael Adams; Step-sister, Vicky Tull; grandchildren, Brenna, Savannah, Waylen, Emma, Austin, Billy, Brandon and Noah;step-mother, Hazel Adams as well as his puppy, Lady Bug, and several nieces and nephews.
Big Jim was predeceased by his father, James Francis Adams, Sr, and two sisters, Joanne Adams ans Terri Lynn Adams
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 10th, 2021 from 7 PM to 9 PM at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. on Chincoteague Island, Va.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 11th, 2021 at 2 PM at Chincoteague Church of God with the Rev. John Thornes and Rev. Kevin Stanley officiating.
