James T. Wimbrow, 84, better known as Buzz of Tennessee formerly of Wattsville, VA passed away Thursday, February 17th, at his residence.
James was born in Sylvia, VA on April 21, 1926, a son of the late Mary E. (Ennis) and Douglas P. Wimbrow.
He was a member of Union Baptist Church in Chincoteague, VA, Temperanceville Masonic Lodge #121, Royal Arch Chapter #75, VFW, and American Legion Post # 159. He was an avid waterman.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years,Virginia Lee Wimbrow of Cornersville, TN; a daughter Rhonda W. Abbott; two grandchildren, Susan Dawn Martin of Pocomoke, MD, Jamie Robinson and her husband Travis of Cornersville, TN; five brothers, Charles Wimbrow and his wife Daisey of Chincoteague, VA, Edwin Wimbrow and his friend Linda of Chincoteague, VA, Douglas Wimbrow Jr. and his wife Naomi of Chincoteague, VA, Norman Wimbrow and his wife Sara Lou of Kentucky, Elwood Wimbrow and his wife Nancy of Stockton, MD; three sisters, Margaret Hinman and her husband Warren of Bloxom, VA, Patsy Lamberston and her husband Jerry of Snow Hill, MD, Jackie Wilson and her husband Jim of NC; three great grandchildren, John Godwin and Sabrina Robbins both of Pocomoke, Md. Madeline Robinson of Cornersville, TN; one uncle, Charles Wimbrow and his wife Francis of Accomac, VA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, John C. Wimbrow, a sister, Eloise Ennis, and a very special son-in-law, William Abbott.
Funeral Service will be held at Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague Island, VA, at 2 PM on Tuesday, February 22nd, with Rev. Kevin Eley officiating.
Friends are invited to call Monday 7-9 PM. at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. in Chincoteague, VA.
Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery Chincoteague, VA.
