Jeanne K. Clear, 87, a resident of Chincoteague Island for 66 years, passed away Friday, March 23rd, at Arcadia Nursing Home, Nelsonia, VA.
Jeanne was born in Wilmington, Delaware on December 31, 1924, the daughter of the late Emily L. (McKewen) and George C. Kennard, and was raised in Atlantic, VA.
She was a member of Chincoteague's Christ United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, her occupations included substitute teacher, secretary/librarian of the elementary school, and then office manager for Coastal Cable TV. She was the widow of George Milton Clear. She is survived by her daughter, Carole Flores of Annapolis, MD; two grandchildren Anthony Flores of Annapolis, MD, Angela Green and her husband Andrew of Ocean View, HI; two great grandchildren Ezra and Elijah Green, both of Ocean View, HI; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son-in-law, Oscar R. Flores, and her brother, Richard C. Kennard.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 11 AM from Christ United Methodist Church in Chincoteague Island, VA with the Rev. Maurice Enright and Rev. Travis DeLoach officating.
Interment will be held at John W. Taylor Memorial Cemetery Temperanceville, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Eastern Shore 165 Market Street Onancock, VA 23417.
