Jeffery Ray Lewis, Jr., left us too soon, surrounded by his family, on August 10, 2025, at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD. Jeffery lived his life on Chincoteague Island, VA, to the fullest—always showing compassion and ready to flash his charming, mischievous little smirk. He carried that compassion to the very end, making the beautiful decision to become an organ donor at the age of 16.
Jeffery is survived by his mother, Cori Mann, and her fiancée, Isaac Koehler, and his father, Jeffrey Lewis. He was also survived by his grandparents, Krista and Bruce Kelso; Christine Judge and William Mann Jr; and John and Terri Bloxom; his great-grandmother, Eleanor Gene Rose; his siblings, Jasmine Lewis, Jacob Howard, Makayla Lewis, and Michael Fanning; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other beloved family members.
Jeffery lived life at full speed, always tinkering with anything he could get his hands on—especially his moped, which he loved to make as loud as possible. He also enjoyed spending time with his best friends, working at Capt. Zack’s Seafood, giving his grandparents, Krista and Bruce, grey hairs, and living life to the fullest.
His family will hold a Celebration of Life service at Church by the Beach in Chincoteague, VA, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 2 p.m. To honor Jeffery's joyful spirit and zest for life, we welcome guests to wear cheerful, colorful attire to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Church by the Beach – Youth Group, 5252 Woodland Dr, Chincoteague, VA 23336, or online at https://churchbythebeach.org/
Services entrusted to Salyer Funeral Home, Inc., on Chincoteague Island, VA. Condolences may be made online at www.salyerfh.com.
