Joanne Walker Lewis, 85 of Chincoteague Island, VA passed away on June 6, 2023, at Shore Health and Rehab in Parksley, VA. Joanne was born in Nassawadox on April 2, 1938, to the late Harry Wilson Walker and Minnie Shrieves Boyce. She was an honorary member of the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company.
Joanne is survived by the three sons, Edward Lewis Jr (Sharon), Kenneth Lewis (Birdie), and David Lewis (Angie) of Chincoteague Island, VA, a sister Diana Lindsay (Jack) of Waverly, GA; grandchildren, Bryan (Jessica), Kristyanne (Jeremy), Kayze (William), Nikki, Heather, Chuck (Debra), and Beth (George); several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joanne is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lewis Sr., daughter, Vicki L. Birch; Brother James McConnell, Aunt, Maryann Hart, Aunt, Betty Matthews; grandson, Chance Holston, and a special cousin, Jimmy Walker.
Graveside service will be held at John Taylors Cemetery in Temperanceville, VA. On June 8, 2023, at 11 am with Billy Joe Tarr officiating.
