Mr. John Edward Booker, 79, of Chincoteague Island, VA went to be with the Lord, Monday, August 10th, 2009 at Shore Memorial Hospital, Nassawadox, VA.
Johnny was born in Cheriton, VA on June 6, 1930, the son of the late Morris and Grace (Brown) Booker.
He graduated from Northampton High School in 1948 and then graduated from Norfolk Business School in 1950. It was in 1954 he meet his wife of 54 years , Patricia Adams Booker. He did bookkeeping for a number of people on the Island and will be greatly missed. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church Chincoteague Island, VA , where he served as Trustee for two terms, United Methodist Men ,John Leonard Bible Class, where he also served as treasurer and teacher for many years, and worked at the OP Shop. Mr. Johnny loved the Lord and praised him for all of the blessings he had given him.
Johnny is survived by his wife Patricia Adams Booker of Chincoteague Island, VA; two brothers, Thomas Booker and his wife Barbara of Seaford, DE, Grayson Booker and his wife Joyce of Capeville, VA; Brother-In-Law Archie Adams and his wife Marion Jean of Chincoteague Island, VA; special niece, Michelle Adams Merritt of Chincoteague Island, VA, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call Thursday 1-2 PM. at Christ United Methodist Church in Chincoteague, VA.
Funeral Service will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, Chincoteague Island, VA, at 2 PM on Thursday, August 13th, with Rev. Travis DeLoach officiating.
Interment will be held at Downing Cemetery, Oak Hall VA.
