John R. Brawley

Mr. John R. Brawley, 81, of Chincoteague Island, VA. went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, MD.
John was born in Redford, Missouri on July 25, 1927, the son of the late Edward and Gladys (Smith) Brawley.
He was a member of Church of God Chincoteague, VA .
He served in the U.S. Navy as a Chief Meteorologist and retired with thirty years of service.
He was the widower of Shirley (Davis) Brawley.
John is survived by a daughter, Kathie wife of Evans Derrickson of Chincoteague Island, VA.
two sons Woody husband of Teresa Brawley of Mabelvale, AR., Rick husband of Kathy Brawley of Mansfield, OH., a sister, Wanda wife of Melvin Clavin of St. Louis, Missouri.
He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by a brother Gene Brawley
Funeral Service will be held at Salyer Funeral Home, Chincoteague, VA, at 2 PM on Sunday, February 1st, with Rev. John Thorne and Rev. Kevin Eley officiating.
Friends are invited to call Sunday 1-2 PM. at Salyer Funeral Home.
Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery Chincotegue, VA.
