Joseph (Joe) Burns was born on May 21, 1940, to James Henry Burns and Katherine Patricia
Mc Feely. He was born and raised on Staten Island, New York. He was very proud of his Staten Island Heritage.
Joe spent summers at the family vacation home at Lake Shawnee, New Jersey, and enjoyed his time there. It was there that he met his soul mate and wife, Beverly Marie Boizot. This began a courtship that led to their marriage on April 8, 1961.
Joe and Beverly were married for 65 years and raised four children, residing in and around the Washington DC area.
Joe was a veteran of the Washington DC construction industry for 42 years and was very proud of the buildings that were completed under his management.
Joe was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Orioles, Terrapins, and the New York football giants.
In 2005, Beverly and Joe retired to their favorite place on earth, Chincoteague Island, Virginia. For the next 21 years, they embraced the Chincoteague life, boating, fishing, golfing, and enjoying the local seafood and restaurants.
