Mr. Lawrence Cherrix, 90, of Chincoteague Island, VA passed away Monday, February 23rd, 2009 at his residence.
Lawrence was born in Chincoteague, Virginia on December 16, 1918, the son of the late Andrew and Viola (Holston) Cherrix.
He worked as a waterman for years for Savage and Mears Seafood in Chincoteague, VA.
Lawrence is survived by two daughters, Jean C. wife of Jim Pruitt of Greenbackville, VA.
Billie Rae Lowton of Chincoteague Island, VA.;four sons Bobby Cherrix Friend of Christina Gallagher of Chincoteague Island, VA., Buddy husband of Pat Cherrix of Oak Hall, VA., Sammy Cherrix of Chincoteague Island, VA., Johnny Cherrix of Chincoteague Island, VA.
He is also predeceased by wife Louise Cherrix, Son Royce Lee Cherrix, Grandson Brian Cherrix, and Granddaughter Tillie Cherrix.
Two Special Grandchildren Bob Jack Cherrix of Chincoteague, VA and Jay Jay Cherrix of Newville, PA Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Service at Salyer Funeral Home, Chincoteague, VA, at 2 PM on Friday, February 27th, with Rev. John Thorne officiating.
Friends are invited to call Friday 1-2 PM. at Salyer Funeral Home.
Interment at John W. Taylor Memorial Cemetery Temperenceville, VA.
