Mrs. Leah L. Hurdle, 92, of Chincoteague Island, VA. passed away Sunday, May 2nd, 2010 at Odyssey Hospice , Peoria, Arizona.
Leah was born in Kansas City, KS on January 18, 1918, the daughter of the late Charles Abner and Nannie Edith (Lucky) Ilkenhans.
Leah enjoyed life to the fullest. She lived on Chincoteague for thirty-three years. There she attended church regularly and donated her time freely to the OP SHOP. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Accomack Chapter #62 Order of Eastern Star, and John Leonard Bible School Class. She also enjoyed going on trips with the senior citizens group.
She was the widow of John M. Hurdle Jr.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Janet Howell, Jeb Goff and his wife Angela Goff, Jim Goff and his wife Marilyn; two great grandchildren, one great great grandchildren; and a nephew Michael Sharon.
Friends and Family are invited to call from 7-9 PM on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. in Chincoteague, VA.
Funeral Service at Christ United Methodist Church, Chincoteague Island, VA, at 2 PM on Sunday, May 9th, with Rev. Travis DeLoach officiating. Interment will be held at Parksley Cemetery, Parksley, VA.
