Lila Mae "Bess" Lewis

Lila Mae "Bess" Lewis, 67, of Chincoteague Island passed away Wednesday, October 19th, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital, Nassawadox,VA.
Bess was born in Salisbury, Maryland on December 18, 1943, a daughter of the late Nellie (Quillen) and Grover "Sparky" Wilgus.
She was the former owner and operator of Island Family Restaurant in Chincoteague Island, VA.
She was the widow of Robert Lee Lewis Sr. She is survived by two sons, Robert Lee Lewis Jr. and his wife Amy of Chincoteague Island, VA, James Steven Lewis and his wife Holly of Bloxom, Va; three grandchildren, April Lewis Johnson and her husband Tony of Chincoteague Island, VA, Trisha Renee Lewis of Homossassa, FL, Sage Steven Lewis and his wife Sarah of Homosassa, FL; four great grandchildren, Amber Nicole Leager of Chincoteague Island, VA, Sarah Mackenzie Lewis of Bloxom, VA, Drayton Cody Lewis of Homosassa, FL, Jade Elizabeth Lewis of Homosassa, FL.; life long friend, caregiver, and companion, James Henry Jackson of Atlantic, VA; two brothers, Holland "Dill" Wilgus and his wife Arlene of Chincoteague Island, Va, Grover "Drizzle" Wilgus of New Church, VA;several nieces,newphews, and cousins.
Memorial Service will be held at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc., Chincoteague, VA, at 2 PM on Saturday, October 22nd, with Nicholas Moffa officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Eastern Shore 165 Market Street Onancock, VA 23417.
