Luther "Bud" Miller Obituary

Luther Jerome "Bud" Miller, 88, of Atlantic, VA formerly of Railroad, PA passed away on February 17, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  
He was born in Crossroads, PA on February 8, 1934, to the late Samuel and Flossie (Miller) Miller.
Bud retired from the American Chain and Cable (ACCO) of York, PA as a superintendent. 
He was a member of Union Baptist Church, Anglers Sunday School Class on Chincoteague Island, VA and former member of Turnpike Baptist Church in Shrewsbury, PA.  He served many years as a Republican Committee Officer. He was the caretaker for the railroad borough water facility.  Over the years he has made many friends with his love of helping others. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener of fruits, vegetables and flowers.  He was well known for his canned preserves and produce.  He was a member of many hunt clubs such as Ducks Unlimited, Jane Brown, and M&S.  Bud loved his country and served in the United State Army.  His love of the Lord and people he met will be greatly missed by all he knew.
Bud is survived by his loving spouse of 23 years Betty Rae Miller of Atlantic, VA; Son, David J. Miller and his wife Edwina of New Freedom, PA; Two Daughters, Lisa Cooley of Felton, PA, Sharon Kellison of Horntown, VA; step daughter, Ruth Ann Birch of Chincoteague Island, VA; three step sons, Gary Daniel Daisey and his wife Sandy of Chincoteague Island, VA, Matthew Daisey and his wife Sherry of Whithams, VA, Mark Dasiey and his wife Danielle of Chincoteague Island, VA; three adopted in love daughters, Mel, Mitzi, and Karen; eight grandchildren, Eric, Justin, Brian, Avery, Joshua, Chris, Tara, and Heather; five great grandchildren; two adopted in love grandchildren, Seth and Kyle; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Catherine Noll Miller, two brothers, Claire and Truman, and two sisters, Katherine and Hilda. 
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, 2:00 pm with a visitation from 1 to 2 pm at the Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague Island, VA, with Rev. Kevin Eley, officiating.
There will be a second service on Thursday, February24th, 2022, 2 :00pm with a visitation from 1 to 2 pm at Turnpike Baptist Church in Shrewsbury, PA with Pastor Jeffery Feeser, officiating.
Burial will take place in the St. John the Baptist Catholic in New Freedom, PA immediately following the service in Shrewsbury, PA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Anglers Sunday School Class c/o Union Baptist Church 6365 Church Street Chincoteague Island, VA 23336.  Services entrusted to Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. on Chincoteague Island, VA.   Condolences may be made online at www.salyerfh.com.
