Mitchell Howard Sr.

Mr. Mitchell Lee Howard, Sr., 77, of New Church, VA. passed away Saturday, July 17th, 2010 at his residence.
Mitchell was born in Chincoteague, Virginia on January 9, 1933, the son of the late William Lee and Mary (Daisey) Howard.
He owned and operated his own construction company for many years. He was a member of Klej Grange Fellowship Church in Pocomoke, MD.
He is survived by his wife,Josephine Howard of New Church, VA; four sons, Scott D. Howard and his wife Rosemary of New Church , VA, Mitchell Lee Howard Jr. and his wife Lenny of Atlantic, VA, Rocky Howard of Berlin, MD, Matthew Howard of Hampton, VA; two daughters, Beverly H. Jester and her husband Stanley of Chincoteague, VA, Shelby Hurdle of Chincoteague, VA; ten grandchildren, H. M., Anita, Michelle, Sarah, Amanda, Riannon, Damien, Matt, Angela, Justin; nine great grandchildren; two brothers Carey Howard and his wife Betty, Terry Howard and his wife Judy all of Chincoteague, VA, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call Saturday 7-9 PM. at Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. in Chincoteague Island, VA.
Funeral Service will be held at Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague Island, VA, at 2 PM on Sunday, July 18th, with Rev. Kevin Eley officiating.
Interment will be held at Daisey Cemetery Ridge Road Chincoteague, VA.
