Myrna Arleen Breland

Myrna Arleen Breland, 82, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, at her home.

Born on November 29, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY, Myrna was a devoted wife to her husband, Arne Bendik Breland, a loving mother to her sons, Arne Steven and Gary Erik, and the best (great) grandmother to her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated homemaker and selfless caretaker of others. Myrna’s love for her family was boundless. She was always there to offer a listening ear, a comforting hug, and a delicious meal.

Myrna was known for her kind heart, generosity, and unwavering support for her family and friends. She was a dedicated volunteer in her ladies’ church group where she enjoyed her time of fellowship and sharing her cooking talent with the community.

Myrna is survived by her children Arne Steven Breland and his wife Peggy; Gary Erik Breland and his wife Anna and their three children; granddaughter Venke Cowger and her husband Heath and their children, Austin and Ella; and grandson Arne Steven Breland, Jr. and his wife Liana and their children, Aurora and Bodhi.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague Island, VA, with Rev. Kevin Eley officiating.

Burial will take place in the John W. Taylor Memorial Cemetery in Temperanceville, VA. Services entrusted to Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. on Chincoteague Island, VA.  Condolences may be made online at www.salyerfh.com
