Nancy Collins Obituary

Nancy was born on November 7, 1921 in Wheeling, WV to Joseph T. and Nannie Beans Brady. She was the youngest of four children, including James, Leo and Adah May Brady. When Nancy was nine years old, the family moved to Washington, DC.
Nancy graduated from St. Paul's High School, attended Strayer Business College and worked for the Philco Corporation in their Washington office. In 1953, she married William E. "Bill" Collins. When their first child was born a year later, Nancy left Philco to become a full-time homemaker. Once her children were all in school, she went back to work on a part-time basis as the box office manager and bookkeeper for the Olney Theatre and the Hartke Theatre at Catholic University.
Nancy loved crafts of all kinds, especially quilting, basket making and cake decorating, making several wedding cakes for family and friends. She also loved being a Grandma to Brendan and Will.
Nancy passed away on Sunday morning, January 24, 2010 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawaddox, VA.
