Oscar “Bill” William Fox, Jr. went to be with his mother, father, and wife, whom he adored, on April 30, 2026.
Bill was born on April 3rd, 1941, to Oscar William Fox, Sr. and Ocillee Fox. He married the love of his life, Mildred “Cookie” Fox, in 1962. Bill is survived by his sons William “Billy” Wayne Fox, I, and his girlfriend Angie Scherer, and Christopher Jason Fox and his fiancé Kristin Teschner, all of Chincoteague. His sister, Lucille Fox, and her long-time partner, Bruce Scott, both of Chincoteague. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, William Wayne Fox II and his wife, Annah Fox, of Chincoteague, VA. Kristin Paige Sherman and her husband, Joseph Sherman, of Fort Dodge, IA. Christopher Joseph Fox of Orlando, FL. And Kyle Blacksher of Chincoteague, VA. He is also survived by his great-grandson, William “Liam” Wayne Fox, III.
Bill graduated from Chincoteague High School in 1960 with friends who have been together for over 80 years. He then owned and operated O.W. Fox Trucking from 1960 to 2004. Traveling frequently from Chincoteague to New York and as far south as Miami, Florida.
Bill loved his family and made sure they always knew that. He was incredibly proud of each of his sons, grandchildren, and his great-grandson. He loved telling anyone who would listen about the accomplishments of his loved ones. Bill also greatly enjoyed his mornings at McDonald’s on Chincoteague. Frequenting there each weekday to spend time with his friends sharing knowledge, jokes, stories, and accomplishments of each of their grandchildren and closest relatives. Bill was loved dearly by his family and will be truly missed.
There will be a Graveside Service at 2 pm on Monday, May 4, 2026, at John Taylor Memorial Cemetery, Temperanceville, VA
