Rev. Harold Gannon Derrickson Jr., 69, of Chincoteague, VA went to be with the Lord, Monday, March 28th, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, MD.
Harold was born in Chincoteague, Virginia on March 20, 1942, a son of Emma (Hill) Derrickson of Chincoteague, VA and the late Harold G. Derrickson, Sr.
He was the Pastor of Horntown Baptist Church in Horntown, VA for over 31 years and Chincoteague Baptist Church in New Church, VA for over 23 years.
He is survived by his wife Lois Ann Derrickson of Chincoteague, VA; a son H. Gannon Derrickson and his wife Tanya of Chincoteague, VA; three daughters Arla Rush and her husband Bryan of Chincoteague, VA, Bevin Jones and her husband Corey of New Church, VA, Elisabeth Womackand her husband David of Richmond, VA; nine grandchildren, James Barbour and his fiance' Cheri' Plapis of ME, Terra Barbour of Richmond, VA, Linda Rush of Chincoteague, VA, Monica Barbour of Richmond, VA, Melissa Derrickson of Chincoteague, VA, Nathan Jones of New Church, VA, David Womack Jr. of Richmond, VA, Elaina Jones of New Church, VA, Jackson Womack of Richmond, VA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife Linda Sollars Derrickson and his daughter Ebby Derrickson Barbour.
Friends are also invited to call April 3rd, an hour before service from 2-3 PM. at Union Baptist Church in Chincoteague, VA.
Funeral Service will be held at Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague Island, VA, at 3 PM on Sunday, April 3rd, with Rev. Jonathan Carpenter and Rev. Donald Bailey officiating.
Interment will be held at Mechanics Cemetery in Chincoteague, VA.
