Richard Francis Barr, Sr., 76, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, at The Macky & Pam Stansell House Coastal Hospice in Ocean Pines. Born February 4, 1948, in Chincoteague, VA, he was the son of the late Allen Francis Barr, Sr. and Ruby Williams Fries.
Richard was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Roxy Ann Barr; son, Richard F. Barr, Jr. (Sarah); daughter, Tara Lynn Van Hekle (Preston); three grandchildren, Logan Marie Barr, Lauren Tilton, and Levi Chase Van Hekle; step-grandchildren, Emma, Aidan, Olivia, and Isabelle; sister, Pamela Martin Foley; brothers, Robert Barr and James Fries; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen Barr, Jr. and Kenneth Fries, and a sister, Joan Carol Betts.
A private family service will be held.
