Ronald Harvey Malone Sr., 76, of Chincoteague Island, VA passed away on November 7, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and several close friends.
He was born on April 23, 1945 to Kathryn Marie (Andrews) and Howard James Malone - who died prior to his birth. Along with his mother, he was raised by his step father Edwin “Dump” Charles Hill.
He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife, Pamela Theresa Malone of 54 years, sister Betty Holloway, sister-in-laws, Debbie Malone and Joan Carol Betts, and brother-in-law Rick Betts.
He is survived by his son Ronald Malone, Jr and his wife Shawn of Chincoteague Island, VA; two granddaughters Ronny Malone and boyfriend Sam Richardson of Chincoteague, VA, and Kelsey Malone of Fort Walton Beach, FL; brother Ernest James Malone of Salisbury, MD; sister Katherine Williams (Mike) of Lorton, VA; brother-in-law Donnie Holloway of Chincoteague, VA; sisters-in-law Pat Betts of Lakeland, FL and Deb Bender (Lou) of Chincoteague, VA; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Ronnie graduated from Chincoteague High School in 1964. After high school he worked for Burton Seafood, and then the plywood plant as a foreman. After retirement he and his wife owned and operated Bill’s Restaurant for 15 years. Besides his love of Chincoteague, his passions included hunting, boating, going Up Da Bay, NASCAR, football and anything his two granddaughters were involved in. He was a lifetime member and past president of Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company.
The family is accepting friends for food and fellowship on Wednesday, November 10 between 2 pm – 4 pm at the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company, 5052 Deep Hole Rd., Chincoteague, VA.
