Rose Matthews

Mrs. Rosalie "Rose" Matthews, 75, of Chincoteague Island, VA went to be with the Lord Monday, June 8th, 2009 at Shore Life Care at Parksley, Parksley, VA.
Rose was born in Bishopville, MD on January 2, 1934, the daughter of the late Adford and Alice (Walker) Clark.
She was a member of Union Baptist Church Chincoteague Island, VA. and daughters of Ruth Sunday School Class.
She was the widow of Darrell Merritt and Elmer Matthews.
She is survived by a son Chief Merritt and his wife Linda of Chincoteague, VA; six grandchildren Melissa Rose Metcalf, Mike McDowell, Philip McDowell, Adam Merritt, Steven Merritt, and Shane Merritt; one great grandchild Courtney Louise Metcalf; daughter-in-law Michelle Merritt of Chincoteague, VA and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Steve " Bubbles" Merritt.
Funeral Service will be held at Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague Island, VA, at 2 PM on Thursday, June 11th, with Rev. Kevin Eley officiating.
Interment will be held at Daisey Cemetery on Church St., Chincotegue Island, VA.
