Ruth Birch Reed, 89, of Chincoteague Island, VA passed away on January 1, 2022, at Riverside Shore Memorial in Onancock, VA.
She was born on Chincoteague Island, VA on May 6, 1932, to the late Leo and Cecil (Richardson) Birch.
She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Chincoteague Island.
She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Reed Franklin, Melodie Reed and Crystal Reed Hyett; sister, Gail Horner; grandchildren, Candice Alba, Matthew Mason, Robert Mason, Anthony Franklin, Skylar Geminiani and Cole Hyett; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Stanley "Chick" Reed, daughter, Carla Reed Wells, and siblings, Harry Birch, Georgie Bloxom, Lois Wilgus.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, 2:00 pm at the Hill Cemetery, Chincoteague Island, VA, with Pastor Jolynn Hart, officiating.
