Shirley Jean Taylor was born on March 15, 1936, to the late Maude and Clifton Lewis. On October 19, 2024, she went to be with her Lord, her daughter, Deborah Taylor Trader, her husband, Wilbert Eugene Taylor, and several beloved brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews, with her son and grandson by her side.
Shirley is survived by her son, Gene Wayne Taylor (Stephanie Taylor), her grandsons, Tom Trader (Jenny), Brian Wayne Trader (Tyler), Gene Taylor, Jr. (Jenna), and a granddaughter, Annie Taylor (Destry), four great-grandchildren, multiple great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Hallie Francis, a special person to her, Tom Concanon, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Shirley was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Her favorite pastimes were Bingo and staying in close contact with her many nieces and nephews. We know how much she was loved by them from their constant calls, the many meals they brought to her, and the many acts of kindness they gave to her. She was their Aunt Shirley.
A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11 AM at John Taylor's Cemetery in. All are welcome.
Shirley was so appreciative of the nurses from Riverside who allowed her to stay in her home until the last day of her life. Their professionalism and care were past professional and so appreciated by her, so in lieu of flowers please THANK a nurse for what they do.
Services Entrusted to Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. on Chincoteague Island, VA. Condolences may be made online at www.salyerfh.com
