Terry Howard

Mr. Terry Howard, 85, husband of Judy Ann Howard and resident of Chincoteague, VA, passed away at the home of his son, Michael, in Parksley, VA on June 5, 2023, with his family by his side. Born on April 2, 1938, on Chincoteague Island, he was the son of the late William Lee Howard and Mary Mariah Howard.

After graduating from Chincoteague High School in 1957 he worked as a waterman and a painter. He was an active member of Union Baptist Church, where he served as an usher for many years. Mr. Howard served on the town council for 32 years, putting the needs of the community first.

He was a loving father, son, and Husband, but most importantly, a Christian.

In addition to his wife, Judy Berry Howard; he is survived by his son Michael and wife Linda; a Granddaughter, Kelly Howard Hale, and her husband, Jason; a great-grandson, MaCauley Michael Hale; three nieces, three nephews, cousins, and their families.

He was predeceased by his parents, and three brothers, Darrel Howard, Mitchell Howard Sr., and Carey Howard.

Funeral services will be held at the Union Baptist Church on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 2 pm with the Rev. Kevin Eley officiating. Interment will be at Daisey Cemetery on Ridge Road. A viewing will be held 1 hour prior to the service at Union Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Union Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
