Travis Birch Obituary

Travis Daniel Birch, 19, of Chincoteague, VA went to be with the Lord on May 21st, 2010. Travis was born on August 16th, 1990 to David and Charma Birch of Chincoteague, VA. Travis was preceded in death by his grandfather Reginald Birch and his uncle, James Chambers, both of Chincoteague, VA. Travis is survived by his parents, David and Charma Birch; grandmothers, Dana Chambers and Helen Birch, all of Chincoteague, VA. He is the youngest brother of his 3 siblings, Jerry Emerson (and wife Jenn) of Georgetown, DE, Aubrey Combs (and husband Heath) of Newport News, VA, and Marie Birch of Chincoteague, VA. He was the proud uncle to Jacob and Daniel. Travis was a nephew to Charles and Donna Birch, Reggie Birch, Mona Birch, and Mitzi Reithmuller. Travis is also survived by many cousins.

Travis was a graduate of Chincoteague High School class of 2008. He joined the Navy and planned to attend basic training in July 2010 to pursue a career in electrical engineering. Travis had many interests and talents which included skateboarding, surfing, graffiti artwork, fishing, and cars. His favorite movie was "The Sandlot" for which he knew every word. Travis spread joy everywhere and to everyone he met. He had the ability to make people laugh and smile with his witty sense of humor. He had a good, kind heart and never hesitated to help others as was demonstrated by his desire to be an organ donor. Because of his selflessness others are now receiving the miracle of life. He was one of a kind and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. He was a friend to all.

Visitation for Travis will be held Thursday, May 27th from 1-2 pm at the Chincoteague Church of God, followed by the funeral service at 2 pm conducted by Rev. John Thorne. The interment will be held at John Taylor's Cemetery in Temperanceville, VA. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to the Travis Birch Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Shore Bank, ATTN Tammy Tarr, 6350 Maddox Boulevard, Chincoteague, VA 23336
