William Joseph Ritchie, 62, of Chincoteague, VA, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024. Bill was born on September 16, 1962, in Cherry Hill, NJ, to the late James Thomas Ritchie and Shirley Anne Wilson and was raised in their home in Magnolia, NJ. He worked for the Town of Magnolia for more than a decade and relocated to Chincoteague, VA, in 2006. He also worked for the Town of Chincoteague and spent more than a decade with them.
His sister, Cheryl Robinson, and his brother, Martin Ritchie, preceded him in death. He is survived and missed by his brother, Russell Ritchie (Renee) and his sister, Kathleen Porch (Steve). He will be forever remembered by his former wife, Patricia Weiser, and their children, Cara Weatherby (Josh), David Weatherby (Megan), and Michelle Weatherby (Bill), and grandchildren, Alexis, Tyler, John, Noah, and Nicholas. His memory will be cherished by his nieces and nephews, Martin Ritchie, Zachery Laning, Joseph Porch, Stephanie Porch, and Candace Joy. He is also survived by many great-nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bill leaves behind many memories full of love and laughter. He will be missed by all. A service is planned for Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 2 pm at Salyer Funeral Home on Chincoteague Island, VA 23336.
