Winfred "Winnie" Lee Bowden Sr.

Winfred "Winnie"  Bowden Sr, 83, of Chincoteague Island, VA, passed away on  April 12, 2023 at Shore Health and Rehab, Parksley, VA.  
  
He was born on December 15, 1939 to the late Louis and Sarah Bowden in Newark. MD.  Winfred retired from Asplundh Tree Company.   
He was a member of Anglers Sunday School Class and Union Baptist Church. He enjoyed music, he played in a band and sung on the radio. 
  
Winfred is survived by his four children, Vickie Elaine Bowden of Bloxom, VA, Winfred Lee Bowden Jr (Michelle Wiseman) of New Castle, DE, Danny R. Bowden (Sandra Collins) of Narrows, VA, and Tia Marie Morris (Eugene Hutchinson) of Narrows, VA; Sister, Joyce Bowden Webb of Bloxom, VA; 7 Grandchildren, 16 Great- Grand Children, several Great-Great-Grandchildren; sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Donald Hare of Shrewsbury, PA; and several nieces and nephews. 
  
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Doris Ann Walston Bowden.
  
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15 at 2:00pm, at the Salyer Funeral Home, Inc., Chincoteague, VA, with Rev. Kevin Eley, and Stewart Emily officiating. Visitation will be held  one hour prior at Salyer Funeral Home Inc., Chincoteague Island, VA.
  
Burial will take place in the Sunny Ridge Memorial Park. Crisfield, MD
